Sandbox
JOIN THE 21ST CENTURY SKILLS PROGRAM
Sandbox is a space created for adolescents and young people with the purpose of integrating technology and the performing arts using training cycles such as the 21st century skills program and the technical integration program. These seek to increase opportunities for productive inclusion within the Creative and Cultural Industries. Sandbox works directly with young people at social risk in the province of Panama in the communities of the Historic Center - El Chorrillo, Santa Ana, Barraza and San Felipe.
Objectives
PRODUCTIVE INCLUSION WITHIN CREATIVE AND CULTURAL INDUSTRIES
- Increase opportunities for productive inclusion within Creative and Cultural Industries (ICC) for young people at social risk through a training offer that integrates the performing arts and technology to promote the skills of the 21st century; and the creation of an internship program that provides them with a first practical experience with industry professionals.
- Take advantage of the potential of the CCI both in the generation of employment and entrepreneurship as well as the potential of creativity and artistic expression as tools for the development of soft skills. In both cases, the intervention model aims to help increase the opportunities for productive and labor inclusion of young people at risk.
- Training and practical experience for young people at social risk with the STEAM platform, ii) interdisciplinary collaboration and with technology for co-creation of innovative artistic pieces (sophistication on offer) and; iii) democratization, decentralization and new distribution channels for performing arts pieces. This will be achieved: 1) by strengthening theoretical-practical training for at-risk youth through the performing arts with integration of technology; 2) fostering innovation and interdisciplinary experimentation with technology with the creation of a Sandbox and; 3) generating practical training opportunities with professionals from the creative industries.
