Description
Five bodies explore the rubble of an abandoned theater. In the heart of Latin America, the Variedades Theater was a cultural gem of the early 20th century. Today it lives in disguise of his deterioration in front of a street that few travel in Panama City. It was once the home of the great artists of the world, but little by little it became a cinema of films already released. Later it served as a porn cinema and bank nights, until it was robbed, destroyed and forgotten. Few citizens know its history and current state, but curiosity led to rediscovering the unusual spaces of this theater. This co-production is a provocation to take a trip to the historical memory of Panama. From the movement and the ruins of what was this building, we build part of the cultural legacy that every day acquires new varieties of forms and rhythms. This is a critique of current cultural detachment, social and identity marginalization and how it impacts us collectively.

Descripción
Cinco cuerpos exploran los escombros de un teatro abandonado. En el corazón de América Latina, el Teatro Variedades fue una joya cultural de principios del siglo XX. Hoy vive disfrazando su deterioro frente a una calle que pocos transitan en la ciudad de Panamá. Alguna vez fue casa de los grandes artistas del mundo, pero poco a poco se convirtió en un cine de películas ya estrenadas. Más tarde sirvió de cine porno y noches de banco, hasta ser robado, destruido y olvidado. Pocos ciudadanos conocen su historia y estado actual, pero la curiosidad llevó a redescubrir los espacios insólitos de este teatro. Esta coproducción es una provocación para hacer un viaje a la memoria histórica de Panamá. Desde el movimiento y las ruinas de lo que fue este edificio, construimos parte del legado cultural que cada día va adquiriendo nuevas variedades de formas y ritmos. Esta es una crítica al desapego cultural actual, a la marginalidad social e identitaria y cómo nos impacta colectivamente.
